OPERA WORKSHOP 2027
The Jette Parker Artists Programme (JPAP) of the Royal Ballet & Opera and Fundación Atchugarry, in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, present OPERA WORKSHOP 2027, an international training programme for opera singers and collaborative pianists from or residing in Latin American countries.
Returning to Uruguay for its second edition, this initiative brings together professionals associated with the Jette Parker Artists Programme of the Royal Ballet & Opera in London, one of the world’s most prestigious opera companies, with the aim of offering an intensive training experience that integrates vocal, musical and stage development. The programme also promotes artistic exchange and collaboration among Latin American artists, while facilitating access to international educational opportunities.
THE PROGRAMME
OPERA WORKSHOP 2027 will take place from 25 January to 7 February 2027, in person and on a full-time basis.
Over the course of two weeks, participants will attend individual lessons, group workshops, coaching sessions, masterclasses, concerts and rehearsals focused on the preparation of the semi-staged Closing Gala. Some activities, such as language classes, will be held online from the United Kingdom.
Our faculty has been selected and supported by the Jette Parker Artists Programme and comprises professionals who regularly undertake artistic and pedagogical work with the Royal Ballet & Opera, supporting the preparation of artists.
The activities will take place primarily at the Atchugarry Museum of Contemporary Art (MACA), in Manantiales, Maldonado, Uruguay.
As part of its commitment to democratizing access to arts education and engaging with the wider community, OPERA WORKSHOP 2027 will also include concerts and cultural activities open to the public.
