Harriet Taylor

Former Jette Parker Artist

Harriet Taylor is an American opera and theatre director based in London. She trained on the Royal Ballet & Opera's Jette Parker Artist Programme and holds an MA in Text & Performance from RADA and a BFA from NYU Tisch. Her work spans new commissions, canonical opera and contemporary theatre, creating visually striking productions rooted in psychological detail and musical storytelling.


Selected directing credits: RE-WIRE 2026 (Birmingham Opera Company), Un ballo in maschera 2026 (Associate Director, Opera Holland Park), Le nozze di Figaro 2025 (Associate Director, Royal College of Music), The Turn of the Screw 2024 (Royal Ballet & Opera/Baxter Theatre, Cape Town), Full Moon in March 2024 (Royal Ballet & Opera, ★★★★ The Guardian, The Times and The Observer), Medea 2024 (Royal Ballet & Opera), Nacht 2023 (Royal Ballet & Opera), and the Clonter Opera Gala 2023. In theatre she has directed work developed with the Young Vic, Battersea Arts Centre, the Barbican and VAULT Festival.


As an assistant and associate director, Harriet has worked with the Royal Ballet & Opera, Glyndebourne, Opéra Comique and Opera Holland Park on productions including Das Rheingold, Il trovatore, The Rape of Lucretia, Giulio Cesare, Káťa Kabanová, Werther and Le nozze di Figaro. Her upcoming projects include Henry IV for Nothing to Perform and 4.48 Psychosis at the Royal Ballet & Opera.
